I am a diehard Aaliyah fan, i remember exactly where i was at when i heard the news of her death. I was at home and my son was talking to his best friend when all of a sudden he fell to the floor crying, i went and asked him what was wrong and that's when he told me that she had gotten killed in a plane crash. I hugged him and cried with him, She was/is such a beautiful young woman, i carry her in my heart everyday. I remember seeing a interview with her a week before she got killed where she said she was a happy girl, and she felt truly blessed. Even though it's been 5 years since her untimely death i still grieve for her and her family. The love i have for her will never die, she is my angel. Words cannot describe how i truly feel about this remarkable young woman, she had so much to look forward to and we only saw the tip of the iceberg as far as her talent goes. I have 10 1/2 hours of her music on my computer which includes remixes and rare unheard music. I belong to one of the best Aaliyah messageboards, it's called Simply Aaliyah or SA for short. We are a community of devoted Aaliyah fans who truly love and respect her.

Aaliyah-yeah, that's still so surreal-funny how she would be the last person you'd think would die-you just don't think anything so devastating can happen to a star-especially a young beautiful one-just like Selena/Aaliyah. It's odd-just freaky when tragedy strikes the one you would never except it could happen to. But, that just goes to show you-tomorrow is never promised-even if your rich and beautiful or infamous.

It is definitely very sad that something so tragic had to happen to her. She was so young and she was in the prime of career (singing and acting). She was very pretty and very talented. Her name will live on for a very long time.

I agree! She was just starting out. It's hard to make sense of it. I guess we just have to say it is fate.
