It's an election-time political stunt. They tack on garbage that has nothing to do with a bill so that their counterpart will vote against it. Then, they put in their campaign commercials that their opponent voted against the immigration bill.
Fortunately, a lot of people are wising up to this. What we need is line-item veto. That means that a bill can be put through, yet all of the pork is cut out by the President so that this kind of silliness stops.

We do NOT need a line item veto. That is ridiculous and would elevate our President beyond where he should be.
Why do republicans keep adding ridiculous things to laws democrats try to pass? Like raising minimum wage? Why do they add on to that bill, lowered the estate taxes on the top one percent of this country? Like who does that even affect except the people who put them in office. We do not need a fence built around our country, that is the stupidest, and I do mean stupidest thing I have heard. A fence? Seriously like thats not a waste of money.

If no legislation passes they can use it as an issue.Dems are ignorant enough they won't see their guys caused the problem.
