My unborn child's father was recently murdered and before he died we discussed naming our son after him. Now that he gone what procedures do I need to go thru to give our son his father's name?

I think him being your son you can name him whatever you want to. I didn't know there were procedures to name your child. So sorry about your loss.

If your child is unborn, the procedure you need to follow is simple: (1) have the baby; (2) when they ask you what to call the little bugger, tell them whatever name you want.

My wife and I both lost our dad's before the birth of our son. We named him after both dad's, Used both of their first names for our son's first and middle name, so he now has two namesakes.

Easy - fill out the father's name on the birth certificate after the baby is born. It will be official.

BY LAW EVEN THOUGH THE FATHER IS GONE. THAT NAME CAN STILL BE PASSED ON TO THE SON. THE FATHERS NAME WILL STILL BE ON THE BIRTH RECORD. I HOPE THIS HELPS.
