My ex was in an accident at work a couple months ago and is still in the hospital. We have agreed that we would like to lower the amount of child support that he is required to pay, which will in fact be beneficial to us both. I don't have the money to hire a lawyer, and would like to fill out the paper myself and submit it to the courts, but I don't know where to start??

Call the family court and ask them about how to file a motion to modify child support, they often have the papers there and people who can explain to you how to fill them out. Since the motion is not being contested by you, it should go smoothly for you.

Unless his wages are garnished, why don't you just make a written agreement between the two of you? Then you can both sign it and keep a copy of it.
