Actually in my opinion, the modern you get the less civilized and the less civilized the less modern. it's a very tough question to answer. As a modern and advanced civilization, i think people tend to become greedy, selfish, uncaring. as well as better in some cases.
take for example child actors...they become famous and then they are not the same.
If you look at people like angelina jolie, because of having money she was able to help others. she is focused and has not let the fame and money take her to different place.
There is really no answer to this. this is my opinion. others may beg to differ.
