Is it possible to have been pregnant and get so caught up in your life to not even realize it? I mean the symptoms were there now that I think about it....has this ever happened to any of you. What exactly does it feel like when the baby kicks??

The answer is yes! When my best friend got pregnant, she didn't know until she was 5 months. I know some of you may be sceptical about this, but it's true. She was VERY irregular and very thin. She only felt nausea once or twice throughout her pregnancy and the only other symptom she had was that she felt really exhausted. She went to Planned Parenthood to get a prescription for the pill. She got called into the room and was told that she was pregnant. The funny thing is that when they told her, they said it in a negative tone as if she was going to be disappointed. But when she heard the news, she smiled from ear to ear and said, "I AM???". She was so happy and her daughter (my God daugther) is beautiful, smart and completely healthy!

I'm just starting to feel my baby kick and it feels like gentle tapping inside your belly. It's amazing! I can't concentrate! I'll be 20 weeks tomorrow.

Heck, I'm a nurse and I have been on fertility treatments to get pregnant. After I had been off fertility for about 5-6 months. I find out I'm 5 weeks pregnant. Looking back, I had all the symptoms but I just figured it was PMS or ovarian cyst. So don't beat yourself up for not knowing right away.

As far as baby moving..to me, it felt like a prickly tapping sensation. That is the best way I can describe it. But as I get further along, you know it's a kick or a hand..etc.

Hope that helps!
Good Luck!

Take a pregnancy test. You won't be feeling the baby kick unless you are at the very least 16 weeks pregnant, and even then it feels more like bubbles than kicking.

I've heard of women actually going into labor, not even realizing they were pregnant!! They were heavy and didn't get their periods often, but I don't really know why they didn't notice the babies kicking.

One day, we had a young girl come into the ER in labor. Her mother was mad at US for suggesting something so stupid, until she saw the baby and realized her own stupidity. The girl wasn't even heavy! Any mother who gave a crap about her own daughter would have noticed . . . but anyways, that's not what you asked about. I tend to run off sometimes - sorry.

It's possible. In my case it was denial. All the signs were there I was just so wrapped up with getting my degree and working full time. I guess I was hoping that if I ignored the signs the whole situation would go away. The kicking was subtle - not painful at all. What was interesting to me was when she moved around - you could see her little body shift.

Yes, it's possible. I know someone from the Pregnancy After Infertility board on iVillage.com who, with her second pregnancy, was pregnant for six months before she realized it. Even her sister-in-law told her at that Christmas that she was pregnant before she realized it herself. If you are feeling those "bubbles bursting" feelings, then you must be 16 weeks. It should show up easily on a home test. Try it.

its possible not to know, it happened to my friend. A baby's kick is like a gentle knock on the door at the early stage and later its like a buzz from a friend you left hanging on the other line.
