I have had pretty regular periods for the last two years. But this time it has been very odd. I had my period for 3 days and it started to taper off and stopped for a day. And now it is back, almost full forced. Why is that? What could have caused it? I'm not on any birth control or hormones, just allergy and asthma medications.

Stress, sleep fluctuations, oncoming sickness, some type of food (not likely but...). Lots of things really! Just watch next period if it happens a again and talk to your doc if it does.

Sometimes it just happens. Mine is different every time. Since you are not on birth control it makes it easier for your cycle to be somewhat "irregular". I would not worry about it as long as you are still getting your period and everything else seems/feels fine.

Maybe that is what is causing the irregular period.
