Help should be help, not just the answer but how or why.
If you have ever watched someone struggle to change a tire on a car, you would be tempted to advise them on putting the jack in the right place, loosening the lug nuts before jacking, jacking carefully, lifting to remove the flat tire, aligning the holes to place a new wheel with tire on, snugging up the nuts before lowering the vehicle, and tightening the nuts when the tire is in contact with the ground.
Maybe you, because of your years of experience and wisdom know all these things or can just figure them out from looking at the vehicle, the wheel, the nuts, the jack and the spare. Most of us, though, need some advice and someone to guide us through the steps to see how easy it is and be confident we can do it ourselves the next time.
If you truly believe that what's easy for you is easy for everyone and you can correctly brand what things are actually 'hard', then you are right.
But if you have ever experienced puzzlement over what to do with "tab A" or what they mean by "lightly" or which part is the "subtrahend", then you already realize that everybody needs help with something.

Homework is bad sometimes. It should be left to the discretion of the answerer whether the homework is not suitable and give the push in the right direction.
On the other hand, it is hard to judge sometimes if someone is just being lazy.
Overall, I think the person asking should put at least what they think the answer is so it shows they are at least thinking about it!

define really hard. think of your question. what is hard to one person isn't hard for someone else, even if that person is younger. people come here to get answers. should we not help people who need it? i believe it should be on the parents too make sure the kids do their own homework. besides, if the kid gets all homework done form other people, who will help him or her with the tests? If they fail the course because they do not know the material it is their own problem.they will continually repeat it until they pass, or are moved to an easier course. Not everyone is 100% genius.

I am a teacher. Sometimes I will guide a person on Yahoo! to find the answer for themselves or ask them questions to think about what would help them. That is truly help. Giving them the answers is cheating them.

Because they ask. If the kid reads all the responses, he'll usually find a real good explanation among them -- and have learned something.
Finally, I'd rather the kid go to class with a copied answer than with a blank sheet of paper.

Because some people are naturally really giving and want to help everyone. And they may think it's an honest question, not realizing they're helping the kids avoid the learning process.

I totally agree with you, As a matter of fact one person asked for help writting a paragraph but they wanted us to write it and they would chose the best one, well, I wrote to that person and told them to write the paragraph and then we would help with improvements. I think people sometimes use yahoo! answers in a wrong way. But it's the answering peoples fault because the answers are given. peace and love.

You can tell when school has let out for the day.....all the "can you help with homework" questions start popping up. Wonder where their head was at while in class?
