I got home late last night and just picked up a message this morning from someone wanting to interview me for a Customer Service/Narrator position (for a cruise boat company), wanting me to come in today to interview.

I cannot come in to interview today as I am busy but I called back and told her (the interviewer) I'd be available for the rest of the week.

Now I'm a bit paranoid that she (the interviewer) won't call back; I'm worried that she WON'T call back. I called her this morning around 8-9 ish; would it be possible if I could call her back in the afternoon when she's available? Or should I be patient?

Nevermind; I called her and she was just getting ready to call me. I got an interview tomorrow at 11 a.m. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

If she didn't state what time she wanted you to come in, I'd wait until about 2 or 3 and then call her back. You want to look interested, but not desparate. If you still don't hear anything its probably not meant to be or they found somebody else.

Was the area code a 940 number? This is a scam currently going around - it could cost you a bundle in money - so don't recall it - and no it would not be considered appropriate under any circumstances to return a call in the same day. If it is legitimate as you've applied for the job and they were calling to set up a time to interview, then you shouldn't have reached a voice mail and if you do, then state that you could interview between the hours of ... ... on such and such date and look forward to scheduling a time and leave your name and number. However, if it's not something you have left a resume with - highly susupect it. This happened to my Mom - and when we called it back, thinking it should have been someone we knew in Korea, they were the ones who got panicked and hung up because they knew we were onto them. We turned the number into the Better Business Bureau and it was a scam that has been going on - people who were not fortunate she was and had unlimited long distance calling services, have had to pay as much as $25,000 in these "interview" processes. Consumers beware!

If she called you, then she is interested in you. I would give it at least 24 hours before I called again. She may be busy, out of the office, etc, so give her another day. Good luck!
