I'm curious to know the complexity of the database on Careerbuilder? On the database end, do you think it is a SQL database on a dedicated server? How is the front end aspect scripted for searching, sorting, and finding (PHP)? Do you think it is difficult to mock? Do you think hiring one person to design a database of similiar functions is do-able, or do you think something like that requires a whole team of developers?

Using the information architecture garnered from our Content Mapping and Functional Design Requirements exercises, the Duo team will create a site map that includes our recommendations for:

I'm familiar with what went into building "Thingamajob" (a site similar to Careerbuilder), and I cannot imagine attempting to do that without a team of developers, system analysts, network engineers, etc. It's not merely the creation, but the security, care and feeding of a database, quality control, testing, etc.

Perhaps the basics of it are simple enough, but you need to consider what goes into maintaining it as well... not to mention creating the mechanism by which people can upload and edit their resumes and information... There is a LOT to develop, test, control and maintain.

...and we haven't even begun talking about the marketing side of it.
