Buy it a cappucino and keep it away from your wife ;o)

(lol sorry!)

Ok, let me try and step you through it using option numbers and pictures....

1. Left click "Start" (or what ever its called now!) in your bottom left hand corner.

2. Hover over the option which has a symbol that looks like a clipboard with a red tick on it and a pen next to it. This is normally called "Settings"

3. Click the first option on the menu that appears. This is normally called "Control Panel" and has the same clipboard/pen symbol but slightly smaller. A folder full of options should appear.

4. Ok now comes the fun bit. We need to find an option called in english "Regional and Language Options". Its symbols is a little globe. Not the one which looks like a world with a computer in front of it, the one that looks like an old victorian desk globe.

5. When you find it, double click it and a pop up box should appear. There should be three tabs at the top - in english these are "Regional Options", "Languages" and "Advanced". Click the middle one, "Languages".

6. Click the button (in english this says "Details"), not the tick boxes, the button. Another popup should appear.

7. This is where you choose your language - hopefully that should solve your problem. However if English is not on the list of options, you only have Italian installed which means a complete reinstall of windows I'm afraid.

If this is the case, the only thing I can suggest is consider reinstalling windows by inserting your windows disk and restarting your machine - press a key to boot from the CD when prompted. During the reinstall it will ask you what language you want windows to run with - so reset it to English.

I'm afraid I can't do anything more without seeing it. If none of the above works I'm sorry but I think your best option is to find a local computer repair bloke to solve it for you. Good luck!

nicely my first suggestion could be to call the manufacture of the pc and clarify to them which you fairly want an English version of the operation device. (finding on how outdated the device is they very in many cases will replace the working device freed from cost or for a small cost approximately $25 on regularly occurring. in view that each and every corporation is diverse you would be able to or would possibly not would desire to pay a greater robust cost.) in the event that they at the instant can't help, then i could advise you call Microsoft tech/application help and clarify your difficulty to them. i'm confident that somebody could be waiting to a minimum of assist you with the subject. in case you fairly need to dodge each and every of the worry, you will desire to do exactly a sparkling placing up of domicile windows XP. If to not sound like a smarty pants here, you will desire to attempt to get a e book/ or log on for English to Italian translation to a minimum of help get you out of the bind your in. good success and merely right needs.

I hope this helps:
Go to Control Panel and click the setting "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options" then click "Regional and Language Options" click on the marker called "Languages" and near the top there should be a box that you can click called "Details". Click and arange your settings. You can also set the language of your keyboard and of your system.
Hope that helps and don't forget a Italian Dictionary!!!

You have to format your hard drive (meaning you`ll have to delete all that is on your computer) and get an English version of the operating system and install it.

You have only 2 options

1. install "Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI)", it is a software on a CD from Microsoft.

2. format hard dirve and reinstall windows with the right language version. (of course you may wanna backup your data first)

Do you have the third option? yes, fire the user :-)

mines in French, there's nothing you can do but 'format' or wipe your computer and load an English version.
