Talk to a different doctor. I got the same story froma doctor to try forcing me into a c-section. I also heard he's 9 1/2 lbs he has an infection and his heart is stopping. Baby was 100% fine. Doctors are very afraid of being sued and have to cover their butts. I'm planning for a VBAC. Unless something happens let it go naturally. Why take a baby early because a doctor doesn'tbelieve pregnancy is a normal part of life. Either way congratulations and good luck

At 37 weeks, unless the baby is very small, you should be going off the medication for preterm labor. If the concern is that the baby is too large for a small pelvis, I can't imagine they'd want to keep the baby growing beyond what's necessary for the baby to be fully developed and anything beyond 37 weeks is considered "term" and the baby is pretty much just getting chubby after that :)
There's no guarantee that you won't dilate. Many women who didn't dilate the first time around, sure do the second time around, so there's no proof that won't happen for you.
For the baby's health as well as for the best experience for you, I would suggest a labor trial. In other words, with your doctor's permission, go off the medication, see if your contractions begin, see if they cause cervical changes, see if your labor will progress on its own. If not, certainly a C-section is always an option.... so what's the harm? They'll monitor to make sure the baby is not distressed...
Obviously, not having your chart in front of me I can only suggest this option. But... your physician should have the final say. If it's important to you to try it on your own though... I'd tell him/her that :) Your body is obviously trying to prep itself, so maybe this time will be different for you.

I had my last three after a C section. All of the doctors but one said that if I delivered on their wash they would let me deliver vaginally. The one doctor said he would not. I did deliver vaginally.
However, I was never told that my pelvis was too small.
I would not chance it. It could be dangerous for both you and your child.

think you would be better off listening to the doctor as you dont want the baby come to any harm, i didnt have a c- section but i was induced as it was dangerous for my baby to wait until the actual labour date, as i had strep b and my baby stopped growing, am glad i took the doctors advice as i had complications with my labour and if it wasnt for their quick thinking then me or my baby might not be here today, sometimes its best to listen as they are not always wrong, hope this helps you?

trust your doctor he's a professional and has experienced many more births and situations like this than you have. if you don't listen and trust his judgment then you could endanger your life and your baby's and thats just not worth it.
