If your crush says yes then tell him you really like him and you've liked him for a while but you want to wait a little while because you just got out of a relationship. Then if he askes why he got asked in the first place, tell him exactly what happened. That your friend asked him without your knowing and that your gald she di because you wanted him to know but, you didn't want it to happen like this. Tell him you just wanna break for a little while then you'll talk to him. If he doesn't understand then you should find a good, but smarter guy. : )

Tell the crush that you like him, but you are not ready for a date yet. Tell him that you would love to go out with him in a few weeks when you feel ready..

tell him that you are really flatered yet you just got out of a messy breakup. if he is a gentleman he will understand and give you time and your space...tell him that he is a nice guy but maybe when things settle down and go back to normal maybe you can give it a shot. be nice but too nice, do not come out as mean: just tell him the truth.
