tell her the baby needs them, but just so you know not taking prenatal vitamins is not gonna hurt the baby, woman has had babys for thousands of years without prenatal vitamins and had normal babys, but it is better to take them so that the baby gets everything it needs. jus tell her your concerned, maybe she'll appreciate it

. Vitamins are very important for the health of the mother and her baby. The food a pregnant woman eats during pregnancy provides the nutrients needed to begin and maintain the growth and development of her baby.

Ther are 3 nutrients that are very iimportnt during pregnancy and they are iron, folic acid, and calcium. These vitamins and minerals are extremelly important at all the time's but even more so during pregnancy because of the increased needs of the baby.

Because most Americans don’t eat a variety of foods ithat are on the food pyramid or they eat way too much from one food group, in doing so they are ignoring the others, many pregnant women may be deficient or low in calcium, iron or folate when they become pregnant, thus the nbeed to take pre-natal pill's.

What the mother eats alone isn't enough to help the growing baby inside her, thats why there are pre-natal pill's to help the baby grow along the way. Also if she get's sick and throws up when taking the pill's tell her take them after eating, my doctor said it was ok to do so. Also take the pill's in the morning, my doctor said it has b12 viatmins to help you stay awake, during the day a more tired at night.

The prenatal pills should be taken the duration of the pregnancy... It provides both mother and baby with essential vitamins to ensure a healthy baby is developing in the womb. Nothing will happen to the baby per say if she stops taking the pills, but it is possible for things to be underdeveolped at delivery.

I would advise this mother to be to continue taking her vitamins as prescribed by the doctor and tell her man to shut up when he tries to tell her otherwise.

If the prenatal vitamins are prescribed to her by a doctor, and not given to her by a friend, she should be taking them as prescribed. (My doctor had to change mine twice, the first ones I couldn't keep down, and the second ones had too much iron in them. The third pills he gave me came with an additional daily calcium supplement.)

The time of day is irrelavent, as long as you are taking them about the same time daily, so that your body has time to get rid of what it doesn't use, and the extra isn't sitting there. Works pretty much the same as any prescription drug. They tell you to take it around the same time daily. Your body has to have time to process the drug and dispose of what it doesn't use. She should be listening to her OB/GYN, not her boyfriend. That much is common sense.

As far as her not taking the prenatal vitamins, loads of women just don't take them, for various reasons. Some don't like the taste, some can't handle the smell, some just can't keep them down, some simply don't remember to do it. Nothing will happen to the baby as a result of her not taking the pills. *However* her teeth and skin and hair and bones will suffer as a result. I can't say just how much, it varies by the person.

The prenatal pills are not for the baby, they are for her. The baby acts as a succubus on her body until it's born. It depletes her own vitamin and nutrient supply, which is why a healthy diet is so important when carrying a child. The pills will *help* to replace the supply in her body, not act as a supply for the baby.

Again, if she's going to be responsible for carrying this child, she should be mature enough to understand that the only person she needs to be listening to is her doctor. And it needs to be one she is comfortable with, not someone her boyfriend picks out. This so-called *boyfriend* clearly isn't ready to be a parent, if he can't stand up and act like an adult. He shouldn't be standing in the way of this child's medical attention (given by a trained professional).

Though she probably isn't taking advice from any one else either, please advise her of one thing:

THE MOTHER'S HEALTH & COMFORT IS PARAMOUNT TO A SUCCESSFUL AND HEALTHY PREGNANCY AND DELIVERY.

Well obviously the boyfriend isnt too bright, why wouldnt he want her taking vitamins? I guess you need to step in a lil bit. I would make sure that she knows she can confide in you,and you keeping it confidential. Otherwise he will cut her off from you... just advise her when she asks, but otherwise just listen. Try to make sure she gets a balanced meal and make sure she gets medical attention. If she eats proper, doesnt drink alcohol or smoke she should have a healthy weight baby.
I would really advise for her sake she takes them. The baby will leech all the nutrients out of the mother and leave her nothing. That is why woman get broken teeth and anemia. A healthy mother makes a healthy baby.

The baby will be underweight or have other problems vision, etc. unless she is drinking 8 glasses of water and eating all her folic acid, vitamin D C Zinc and all that she will be fine! I dont think anyone eats exactly whats required thats why the have prenatals,
Maybe the reason is that they make her sick...I have to use a coated kind so you do not taste anything at all,,,SOme of the samples my doc gave me made me throw up just opening the bottle, how could I swollow one of those???

She should have been taking her prenatal vitamins from the start. Hopefully, she has a good doctor and the baby is doing fine. Maybe she's eating well, but the vitamins are important. The baby may be underweight or not have enough nutrients if she's not taking care of herself.

Nothing happens if she dont take them if she is eating properly and getting the nutrition she needs. Prenatal pills help from sickness and they are just like any vitamin pills. She really should be taking them because it is good for both her and the baby, and after she has the baby, even if she doesnt breastfeed take prenatal pills. They are one of the cheapest vitamins out there and my doctor told me to take them until i have no more periods...so about 30-40 more years! urge her to take them for her babies sake!

She definitely HAS TO take her prenatal vitamin everyday. You need to tell her how vital this is to the health of her baby. Doesnt this boy want his baby to be healthy? They definitely have issues if he doesnt even want her taking a prenatal vitamin. Tell him its either take the vitamin so the baby will be born healthy or pay for its doctor bills ALL the time because the baby will be sick because of a bad immune system, etc..

i'm 7 months and throughout my entire pregnancy i've taken my prenatal pills at night before bed because my doctor said that it's less likely to cause morning sickness i really don't think that it matters when you take them during the day as long as you do as for the other question about what could happen by not taking them i'm really not sure

good luck to you
