E-mail used to be called electronic mail. When it first came about, it was not considered private. It is still not considered private except by those who don't know better. There have been attempts to make it private. The big hold off is technology itself. You cannot make it legally private unless you can enforce that law. There is no way to enforce such a law thanks to the nature of the way technology advances. If that changes, maybe it will become private. If you are concerned about privacy, do not use e-mail. There are other on-line methods of communication that are more secure. There are traditional methods that are legally protected such as the U. S. postal service.

If you mean the company you work for no. You signed a contract when you started that allows them to watch every move you make! If you are opening your e mail on company time, they have the legal right to monitor and read it not to mention watch your every move on the internet!

If your sending emails from a work PC I think they have the option to monitor all employee emails. Even if they are isolating your email and you have proof I think its legit.

if it is company email, then no...and if it is personal email, and you are using a company computer...then no...i think the hard thing that you will have to prove is that it is for personal reasons.
