I'd say take your car in to have it looked at by a professional because what you are describing is not normal for a car.

Unfortunately, there's a long list of things that could cause the symptoms you have listed. Your best bet is to take it to a Honda dealership and have them put it on the computer. Since the "Check Engine" light is on, the computer will spit out a code that'll tell the mechanic what's wrong. WARNING: For American made cars it costs $80.00 just to have them put it on the computer, so be prepared to pay a fee just to have them check it out. Once you know what's wrong, you can determine whether it's worth it to get the car fixed or whether you'd be better off buying something newer...

It sounds like one of your piston cylinders might be misfiring and throwing the car off balance.

take it to autozone have them read the code and tell you why the light is on.
