Is the Democratic party a black, brown, female, gay/lesbian, irreligious, urban party?

I mean what kind of question is that? Perhaps if you can go to the party's constitution and find mention of that then ... but to look at the membership and make such a suggestion even by posing the question is part of what contributes to the debate-free and toxic atmosphere of US politics today.

Interestingly enough, Both Democrat and Republican parties are majority white, Christian parties...

Maybe because the US is a majority white, Christian country...

If you are referring to the Repukes in the former USA, I would say that the controlling interests in said party would be dominated by white Christians, or more correctly christianists, who have their own hypocritical take on their incarnated god and ideal.

Pretty damn close. (although I do not know how many true christians there are)

However the Democrats aren't much more diverse. They are just a little less radical about it.

Bharris,
Yeah that is why the republicans fought to make inter-racial marriages illegal in the 70s. Where do most of the members of the KKK live? In the south. What are many of the states in the south? Republican.
HMM.

I'd call them rich, white, wanna-be-christians. They don't seem very christian to me.

The GOP has fought for the rights of minorities since it's inception. The Democrats are the racists who fought FOR slavery, FOR segregation, and AGAINST the right of black people to vote.
