If you are using the standard USB modem you get when you sign up to BT broadband, you lose the connection as the modem draws power through your computers USB port.

So turning your computer off means no power goes to the modem so you lose connection and therfore have to reconnect when you restart the PC and power up the modem.

You need to change your broadband supplier, alot of my friends have had a prob with bt broadband..try telewest broadband or tiscali..
