it hasn't. The No Child Left Behind Act has not benefited me because, in my school, the teachers still didn't give a d a m n about whether u learned anything or not. And my school was on the city's "Failing Schools" list every year for 3yrs until i graduated, and I think now it's still on there.

At first I thought, geez here's big gov't interfering again, but it has caused a big difference for my son. He is special ed and at grade 3 could not read. The school system here was going to lose federal $$ if they did not improve the reading levels of the special ed kids. Because of that my son (now in 7th grade) has an 11 th grade reading level. Money talks. If it wasn't for no child legislation I fear the public school system would not have taught my boy to read.

The only way it helped me was my daughter was in a school and she was failing miserably and it was the teachers fault. They allowed me to switch schools in the middle of the school year and because of that she is doing so much better and I thank God that I did it. I'm not sure I agree with the whole scoop of it, but it did help my daughter in that aspect.

It hasn't. El Cajon School District is still one of the worst in California. That's what you get when you school district is run by neo-cons. Fortunately I got a transfer to Lemon Grove School District for my kids.

It has benefited my community; therefore, it has benifited me. Thanks to grants made available by NCLB, three poor areas got new schools this year. I feel these brand new high tech schools will give a better education to kids who had been bused to older schools. A community with better educated children is far better off, it has less crime, less drugs and lower unemployment.
