I stayed at the Juyoh Hotel for about two weeks:

It's about a 10 minute walk from Asakusa. When I was there it had free interent and green tea. The rooms are tatami with futon beds. Fridge and TV. Shared bathroom with public bath on the top floor.

Definitely the Toyoku Inn.

It is a chain of hotels and is really well priced. Everything is nice and newish inside, and the staff are really friendly and usually have at least one English speaker.

You better do hotel search first. No body knows your budget or where you wanna go.

Tokyo hotels get full easily, specially nice hotels. Book 1 month before you come. at least 3 weeks before.

Tokyo is huge! "It depends" is probably not going to help you. My suggestion is try to stay near a major rail station. They have great public transportation and if you are close to rail, you wont have a problem getting anywhere.
