I love the smell of lit fireplaces. Don't know that I can say it was the smell of a wood-burning stove.

No! We had an outdoor wood burner for heat for 6 years. I got so tired of feeding the beast twice a day (sometimes more when it was really cold) and then smelling like smoke the rest of the day....Add to that the constant cutting and chopping! I never want to smell that again!

depends on the wood....but I do like the heat they throw off so nice and warm. I can heat my entire place in the winter with my fireplace. Course it gets a little cold in the back but with some fans....

Oh yes! It reminds me of growing up because we always had wood heat when I was growind up. I especially love it around Christmas...the firplace...the tree...I feel all warm and cozy inside..Thanks Joni!
