don't tell him to f off, thats stupid. try to find something you have in common, what drew the two of you together. but, you know, if it ends and all that, the tattoo will still be there, and remind you of all that, even if it isn't gushy.

Do you really want to start turning your body into a comic book page ? Know that a tattoo can bring hepatitis ; and - years from now it will start to fade , the colors will look faded and dingy and the tattoo will loose it's shape. If you are still dead-set on defacing your body-I suggest you get a tattoo decal and wear it for 6 months . If you are sure you want to go ahead ,,,there you go . On the other hand , a decision you make in a day is going to last a lifetime . Just be real sure .

First of all do YOU want a tattoo? If not, why are you even considering this? If you do want a tattoo, choose something that means something to you. I've always felt that if you have to ask someone what you should get, you shouldn't be getting one.
Personally I have three. One is this floral/paisley design on my ankle. To me it represents taking charge of my own life, becoming myself. I have and Eye of Horus on my upper back representing my neverending quest for knowledge. I have an ankh on my stomach with the symbols for Aries and Leo under the arms. The ankh is a symbol for fertility. I'm an Aries and my son's a Leo. That tattoo is dedicated to my son.
I have two more planned. I want a Celtic weave armband because I'm Irish. I want a fairy reclining on a moon on my lower back because this guy who was my first love wrote this poem for me about a fairy. The tattoo would represent the feeling of a first love.
The people I know who've just chosen an image from the flash on the walls, or picked an image because someone told them that's what they should get, have always regretted those tattoos. Whereas the people who plan their tattoos and what they want has a specific meaning to them, they treasure it forever.
So my advice to you is wait on the tattoo until you're sure you want one and come up with something that means something to you. If you have an idea in your head, but not a specific image, that's where the tattoo artists come in. You can tell them what your idea is and what kind of feeling you want to evoke, and they can design something specifically for you. You can work with the artist until you are happy with the final design.

I saw your response to another who wants a tattoo to symbolize their relationship. I think it's a horrible idea. From my experiences, I cover too many names, dates, and symbols to agree with anyone doing such a thing. Common-law marriages mean nothing really and are only recognized by 9 states. It's just an agreement between two people to call themselves married. I wish nothing bu the best for you and your boyfriend, but, things happen. Why not tell your boyfriend to wait, and when you get married, and have children, he could get something to symbolize the birth of your children. Your children will be created with love, and that will never change. If he wants a tattoo now, tell him to get one, just not one that could require a cover-up in the future.

aww.. I think its cute that you guys want to get tattoos together.. me and my babys' father got each others name ( horrible mistake ) but I made my son a Jr. so it all worked out for me.. him on the other hand is stuck with my name on his chest. I don't think you should do like me and get the name thing it's way over rated and a dumb move.
I suggest that you guys either pick each others tattoos out..., or get like matching tattoos ( not to boyish and not to girly ) or get something sacret like a tattoo that only you guys understand. This has been done plenty of times but me and my babies father also did this.. he got a heart by my name with a lock on it... and I got the key.
In the end it's your choice to do what you want.. don't get forced into doing something you don't want to do.
Lol I have a secret too.. I have 4 guys with my name tattooed on them including my 2 brothers .. lol ) and a tattoo isn't being as comitted as " marrige " it's more then that. We are living in 2006 almost 2007 divorce happens marriges end tattoos are forever... I would give heavy heavy thought on what you do. It's your choice and if he dosent respect that then a tattoo would be way to commited for him.. I hope you do what YOU want !! Good Luck

Don't get anything indelibly inked on your body because of what any one else thinks is a "cute" or "a good idea." Get something inked on your body because it's meaningful or important to you. Don't get a tattoo for the mere sake of getting a tattoo...get something tattooed because it's important to you and reflects who you are. You will regret it later and spend a lot of money either getting it removed or covered up by something bigger.

I think you should suggest that you have a mind of your own and you have been really using yours and it tells you that its not the best idea to get a tatoo--if he wants to then at least you made a suggestion--this is a life long thing and think of your parents, grandparents, older people you know. No matter how young you feel you will be that age sooner than you think with a tatoo--they are asking for infection also. Just consider this at least.

well let me tell u this, when i was 19 guy i'd been with for almost a year, surprised me and got my name on his neck - and my name is 9 letters long. so eneway i loved it yea. but he ended up cheating on me. the tattooer said names on necks were bad luck. haha. so my point is don't get his name. DEFENETLY DO NOT GET HIS NAME or don't let him get your either. that's something u should do on a honeymoon or something. (my secret tho =oD there are 3 guys with my name on them heh he he)
well i had this one boyfriend. he put my virgo zodiac symbol on my inner left ankle. but i think u should pick something for you. something that reminds u of u or a symbol, picture or flower. that same boyfriend n i are planning to get Must Be Nice in the same spot as each other (he's incarcerated tho). so good luck girlie. n don't be afraid. it only hurts for a little while. A Moment Of Pain ~ A Lifetime of Pleasure. =oD =oD =oD =oD

I honestly dont think you should get a tattoo. Its really hard to remove them, and quite expensive. But if you do get something generic so that when, or if you have another boyfriend, they wont shy away

Whatever you do, it's a good idea NOT to get each others names because you're going to have that tatto for the rest of you life, so make it something symbolic of yourself or what is also popular is to do it in memorial of someone or just do something that inspires you and looks cute.
