Is the difficulty because of pain? I have a lot of pain in my pelvis and hip joints and that is because the bones are shifting in preparation for the baby's birth. If you aren't having pain, but are having problems moving, you may want to tell your doctor.

Pregnancy is a time of both physical and emotional changes. Aside from the obvious changes in your body shape, the size of your uterus and shifts in your hormonal levels and metabolism can contribute to various physical and emotional discomforts.

The pregnancy discomforts mentioned below are common; however, they are not experienced by all pregnant women and may not be a part of your pregnancy. It is important to remember that:

1. You may need to try more than one remedy before you find one that works for you.
2. Good nutrition is especially important for a comfortable and healthy pregnancy.
3. Eating well can minimize discomforts and help your body cope with the stresses of daily life.
4. If you have a physical discomfort that is severe or does not go away, contact your health care provider.
5. If you have a chronic health condition, such as diabetes or asthma, it is very important to see your health care provider throughout your pregnancy.

I know how you feel, I am 7 months. It has to do with all that extra weight that you arent used to. If you think about it, your belly gets in the way of you lifting your legs. I have been doing lots of stretches and walking and this seems to help some. If you have trouble doing light exercising, walking, etc...then you should talk to your doctor.

Aww, sweetie, I know it sucks. I am 5'2 so when I get preggie I am like overwhelmed with the kid. I got so huge the first time I, and probably will this time too, that like every hour I couldnt help but exclaim "this is just retarded!". When I was preggie, any movement that inolved my abs, I just couldnt do. It wont last forever and you'll have a beautiful baby, just remember that when you are about to give up and just ly in bed. Keep moving though, push yourself a little but not too much. At your next prenatal visit, mention it to your doctor for sure though, just in case
Good luck!

It takes alot of energy to be able to carry a baby! If you held a box for hours while standing, you will feel the same problem. Just stay healthy, eat many small meals and dont forget to drink lots of water! :)

You're stomach is too close to one of your muscles that's used when you lift your leg. It's normal, nothing to worry about.

Extra poundage? Swollen belly?

Laziness?

Soft life-style?

Our pioneer mothers walked the width of North America while expecting. And you belly-ache about not being able to lift your legs????????

I can understand because your stomach gets in the way. It maybe because you're being extra careful, but that's ok. Get some extra fiber in your diet.
