First of all, hair comes and goes in cycles. So his condition may be normal.
Second, if his hair is falling for some abnormal reason, there is no shampoo in the world that will help. However there is a Chinese herbal remedy called He Shou Wu which is known the world over to stop and in some cases to even reverse hair loss. It is a very well-known remedy taken by mouth and is available in various Chinatowns the world over.
Third, is he in generally good health? If his general physical condition is poor, that should be addressed first rather than this "cosmetic" problem.
Fourth, there is an Indian remedy called "Restoration Hair" being sold in the US. It is totally useless, my experience.
