I used to do gymnastics.

Yes, they teach you the basics first.

What they decide to teach you first really depends on the school. Usually something simple that doesn't require a lot of strength or flexibility, but emphasizes coordination.

I did when i was little and I was like the best one there! I was really flexable so I could do cart-wheels and the splits all the way and I was only like 4 or 5! I can do round offs now and I am 10 now. I know I am probably really young to be on here but..

Well, yes, they teach you the basics first. Its like learning to walk...with style.

On floor You learn simple things like SPLITS, back bends, front walkovers, back walkovers, cartwheels, one handed cartwheels, back bend kick overs, handstands, handstand rolls, jumps.

You learn to control your balance and aim.

On the beam you will learn sashays, walks, handstands, cartwheels, dips...

Bars you learn in-and-outs, pull overs, push ups, cherry drops, straddle sole circles...

Great that you are taking up gymnastics, its so fun and great for your body.
