Some low income families can't afford things we take for granted like microwaves and furniture. Anyway I was thinking about all of the great things college students throw out. I was thinking about trying to find a rental truck place that would provide trucks and gas since they could write it off. So, I was thinking to get some people and some free trucks and pick up the college students lamps, furniture, etc. and find a way to donate them to low income families. Is this a stupid idea or do you think it's a good idea that might work and benefit others?

That's a great idea, and your right about how we take things for granted. A good place to start is some womens shelters, they are usually trying to get out and make it on their own while raising their children and could probably use the stuff you are talking about. Good luck to you.

It's not a stupid idea, and if nothing else it would save the family from having to find transportation for the stuff they find on their own while curb shopping. The thing is, in order to be a different establishment from those that exist, you'd have to deliver it to their homes. So it would be a two part operation, collection to be taken to a warehouse/showroom, and distribution to get it to those who need it.

I think that is a great idea if you get it started tell one of the news channels and then you could get air time and maybe it would spread to other ciry, towns, or even states. Good luck I would love to know if you get it going and how it goes.

I think it's a great idea. My brother-in-law works for a large university and he says it's ridiculous what the kids leave when they leave. He's seen clothes and shoes with tags still on them. Electronics, sports equipment, etc.
