The one that brings you comfort and the one that was read to you as a child.

I wouldn't say any book brought me comfort, but in my junior high days I enjoyed the Baby-Sitter's Club. I didn't have a fave character back then, but now as I think about it, I think maybe Mary Anne Spier's my fave because she was sensitive and into other people's feeling's. I envy Dawn's happiness with health food. I could identify with Mary Anne's having a strict father, as I had strict parents. Shoot, my mother didn't let me wash my own hair and didn't let me wear it down until I was out of high school. Shoot, I was 20 when I finally got to wash my own hair. And I always wanted to do it myself! Like Jessie, I do have a brother, only, I'm the much younger one.

Talk about bringing back good memories of books, thanks SO much. I needed a break from feeling the blues from something. This question brought me comfort! You made my day! I felt like crying about something BIG time, and couldn't stop the tears, but answering this question, ah, now those tears vanished and I got the BIGGEST smile on my face. I love Yahoo! Answers! (well, when it comes to good quality stuff, anyhow!)

I also loved 13 and Loving It, and SuperFlirts. Key To My Heart, another good one.

When I was a teen in high school, I gotten more into Sweet Valley High. I'm more like Elizabeth Wakefield. I wasn't as brainy as she was, but I did make several honor rolls, and in my sophomore year, I did make a point of doing all my homework each night, even if it meant turning some in half done because I needed help on it. I only had a couple close friend, but two things different than me and Liz was that I didn't have her popularity, and I didn't have one steady boyfriend. I was not popular with the guys. And like them, I have an older bro, but he's 9 years older than me. But I do share Liz's passion for writing, however! Myself, I like to do MANY assorted styles of writing. And want to make a career out of it someday.

As a elementary school child, I didn't have a fave. But I did love to read. I even made up my own short novels.

As an adult, I didn't really read, not into adult books too much. But I, a little over 20 years later, still love to write! I only read magazines now.

Sorry for such a long post! I hope I did not put you to sleep!

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs - My best friend from childhood gave me a copy of it for my birthday one year. The original one is long gone, it was lost in a basement flood, but I replaced it earlier this year so that I could read it to the kids that I babysit.

Either the Magic Far Away Tree by Enid Blighton or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. I think I have nearly every book by both authors and I love every single one even now!

One of the Dr. Suess books. my grandma would read to me every night, the same story. She had dyslexia and it actually helped her to read to me. Also I would go for travels with her and we would read it. We knew it by heart so we used an "imaginary book" most of the time.

Currently im reading I Love You Forever by Robert Munsch to my son and daughter, because its another way to tell them how much i love them. My son and i say the verse to each other all the time now too.
