it could be your hormones and the drs should be able to tell by urine analysis (that's how they found out i was having a miscarriage). The should have brought in the ultrasound machine too to see if the baby was an ectopic pregnancy or to see if your body had naturally aborted all of the baby. If they didn't do any of that i'd request it because your body might have not aborted all of the baby (which is a hazard to your health) and in that case they would have to do a dnc (i think that was it is called) which is where they clean the rest of the baby out.
Im very sorry for your loss.

if everything was not cleared out of your uterus you couse have tissue in there still and that would cause your hormone levels to still be up. You might insist on having a ultra sound to make sure all the tissue was able to get out. If your doctor is not willing to do this, I would get a second opinion somewhere else. Because of the fact that if there is still something in here it can cause a bad infection. Sorry for the loss hun.

Yes, it will show positive for 4-6 weeks after a miscarriage. Another possibility may be current pregnancy as it is possible to become pregnant immediately after a miscarriage. Perfectly normal to still show positive at this point...too bad they can't take blood, as this would ease your mind a bit.

Usually this is because the pregnancy hormone (HGC) is not out of your system because it is in the blood stream give it 6 to 8 weeks if your blood has not cleared the pregnancy yet then, I would go and get an ultra sound to see if there are traces of the tissue in your uterus.

I had a misscarriage with my first preg. in 2004. I lost my baby when he/she was only 4 weeks. I get showing positive almost untill my next period. Which I didn't get untill about 1 mo. later... I was told that the hormone levels still were up and going down slowly and that was making the preg. test positive... I waited almost a yr. to get preg. again. and now I have a healthy, beutiful 7 mo. baby boy... Sorry to hear about your loss...

try a different doctor. I miscarried early on in one of my pregnancies and just to make sure it was a miscarriage instead of something else, I took another pregnancy test. It came back negative. Your hormone levels should be back to normal by now.

Maybe you had multiple embryos and there is still one left. Go get checked, but try a different doctor.

It varies, yet i think of it may take a month to your hCG stages to pass decrease back to 0 (or undetectable in a try). So that is achieveable which you're nonetheless finding out useful by way of miscarriage, whether it is likewise achieveable which you will possibly be finding out useful given which you're pregnant back. the only thank you to make particular is to pass to with a doctor and have a blood try with particular hCG stages (no longer purely above/under a undeniable quantity, like HPTs coach) to verify if the selection is transforming into (pregnant) or nonetheless dropping (submit-miscarriage). sturdy success.

yes, i lost a preganncy and my doctors told me it could take as long as 8 weeks for my hormones level to return to normal. but, yes some preg. tests may still say postiive when of course that's not the case. now did you terminate or actually miscarry b/c my sister had a situation where she miscarried and for whatver reason never went to the doctor after it happened. when she finally did go to the doctor they informed her that she still had some of the pregnacy tissue inside of her, hence the reason for her pregnancy tests still saying positive.

it also happened to me. It is a hormone thing, I guess. Are you sure you lost it? I would go and check with another doctor. Sorry to hear that. I know the feeling. Good luck
