The Football League is definately a lot more competitive than the Premiership. You can look at the Premiership and you know who the top four are going to be. Sure, every once in a while a different team like Spurs will crack the top four but we all pretty much know that Chelsea will buy the title and Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool will finish in the next three positions. The same can not be said for the Championship or League's 1 and 2. Sure, you may know that Birmingham have more chance of getting promoted than Colchester or Southend but any team in the Championship could, potentially, get promoted. Lokk at Watford last season, they went from just surviving relegation to winning promotion in one season. This would never happen in the Premiership. A club like Fulham or Manchester City will always be avoiding relegation. As a Leicester City fan, while I would give anything to have our Premiership status back, each season we knew it was a quest to get enough points just to survive. It was up to the cup competitions to provide us with excitement. Now we are in the Championship I truly have no idea what to expect at the start of each season.

Having said that the Football League is less predictable and more exciting - The Play-offs are responsible for that- in terms of actual quality of football, it isn't a patch on the Premiership. In the Premiership there are world class players playing world class football. Almost without exception, the Championship doesn't have any world class players. You just have to look at television money. Channels are prepared to pay millions more for rights to the Premiership than they are for the Football League. People are much more likely to want to watch Wayne Rooney and Thiery Henry than they are Marc Edworthy or DJ Campbell.

Premiership is boring, we all know Chelsea will win it.
Who will win the Championship? No one has any idea, plus there are the play offs. Which being a Watford fan I think are great, maybe that's another reason I think the Premiership sucks, Watford can't win a game in it.

It all went wrong when they changed from division 1 - 4 and called it the premiership, how can division 4 now be known as division 2!

The premiership is ruled by money. No player really cares if they win or lose when they earn £60k a week. The best footbal is in the lower leagues without a doubt.

The Championship is by far the better league out of the two.
The league itself is always tight and it always comes down to the last game.
Whereas the Premiership is 90% predictable. Take your pick.....Buy the title Chelsea, Bought it but want it again Man U, French Arsenal or Scouser Liverpool.

yes i agree .if you think about it we can all say who will be top of the premier league come the end of the season so where is the competition. the premier league gets a wee bit exciting near the end of the season when the bottom teams are fighting to get out of relegation but that's about it the rest is the same old same old.at least in the football league games you never know whats going to happen and the entertainment and excitement goes on right up until the last games of the season

No the premiership is the best league in the world. Apart from David Healy, I cannot think of one player in it.

The people telling you the Premier League is the best in the world are the same people who tell you England fans are the best in the world and that England will win the World Cup.
And you Nigels believe them.
You are always good for a laugh but you can be equally annoying in your arrogance.

Probably in terms of entertainment value.
But the Premiership teams can easily beat them anytime without breaking a sweat.

You must be kidding.
There is no league better than the premier league.
People across Europe pay a subscription to watch it every week.
Can;t see many people who would be willing to pay the same to watch, for example, Colchester V Hull

i havent gotten a chance to watch the football league any. i'm sure it can be just as exciting to anyone, depending on who they support. all i've gotten to watch though is the EPL and it's been pretty suprising lately, w/ portsmouth at the top and liverpool down near the bottom.
