How Do Magnets Work?

Magnets have always been exciting and, in the past, they have been associated with magic and witchcraft. Still, many believe that magnets have some healing power for pain and certain diseases. The fact that an invisible magnetic force is able to attract or repel certain metals is interesting enough for a science project.

Design experiments to show how magnets work. Why some metals can be attracted by magnets and some others can not. See if magnetic force may affect non-metals as well?

Demonstrate magical properties of magnets in your display and try to show as many magnet applications as possible.

Magnets are amazing objects that attract certain other materials. Properties of magnets have been the subject of research for many scientists in the past and today. Magnets are used in many devices such as telephones, radios, televisions, computers and many more...

Do this project and find the answers to the following questions:
What are the properties of a magnet? What material are attracted by a magnet? What are the uses and benefits of magnets? Can you use magnets to identify other materials?

Perform experiments to see how different materials interact with magnets. Use the results of your experiments to identify unknown materials including metals and minerals (stones). Can magnets be harmful to household items?

why do people get goosebumps! I always wanted to do that for a science fair project, when I was little, but I never got too =(

literally, open a textbook and pick something.. it's SO easy if there are no restrictions on topic selection.

Several topics come to mind. But the best i would suggest is to buy those science kits, electricity, magnetism, animal behavior, human senses, fun with chemistry, plants - germination, energy experiments. I hope the above list gives you enough ideas

track the metamorphasis of an insect. i remember when i was in 5th grade, we observed meal worms transform into beatles.

1. fill an empty cup or dish with dry oatmeal.
2. cut some fresh apples and include it in the cup/dish
3. the meal worm will eat the apple
4. over time, the worm will metamorphasize into a beetle.

just document the finings.

I created a boxed-in, glass-fronted diorama showing a cut-away view of typical California rock strata, which was able to simulate the moving of such strata during an earthquake. You could actually see the faultline fracture and move.

I would say, try something not Orthedox.

My suggestion is try explaining Creation Science and how everything has a intellegent design to it.
