I've heard that the first edition of Eliot's 1920 poems, also called Ara Vos Prec, contained a poem which was cut from all subsequent editions. Is this true? Does anyone know what the poem was?

I am wondering if it is called The Waste Land. Since this was a controversial poem at the time.

I believe that the poem that was cut was one of Eliot´s more anti-semitic pieces.

You should get hold of: TS Eliot, Anti-Semitism and Literary Form, by Anthony Julius, Cambridge University Press for more details as I cannot remember them myself.

Happy reading.
