Hi - I'm thinking of giving up work next year and am looking for advice from those who have done it already. Would you please tell me the MAIN things I need to think about before making changes. I have already thought about:
Continuing casual work 1 day/week.
Finances-allow for costs in living, investment. Check my will.
Home - is it going to be suitable/safe/affordable within the next 10 years etc. Should I move?
Social life - keep/establish friendships. Take up a sport e.g.golf, community interests/voluntary work. Continue strong church/fellowship involvement.
Health - write out my routine Vitamin/min./herbs supplements in case I get sick or have an accident.
Review/pray about my goals/aims/values so I can make the most of the rest of my life. M.(female)

"Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own " Matthew 6:33 - 34 .. Well.. I feel that whatever we do, if we are doing the will of God, He is going to bless us abundantly.. we can retire from work, but never retire from the work of God, as the harvest is plentiful, and the workers are few..~ God bless you ~

My philosophy on retirement is, Work until you die! If you retire from one job, get another.
