One word...PHISHING. It is absolutely a fake.

I just recently did hours worth of research for an article I was writing on identity theft. The "sweepstakes" that you mentioned is just one of several scams that are circulating on the Internet.

Don't be fooled by scam emails. If something sounds too good to be true, it is.

i'm sorry to tell you that lottery online is a scam,if you did not
enter anything then you did not win anything right???

i received a mail from the national lottery in the u.k saying that i won 1.5millions dollars,so i answer and now they want money
so i can i a smooth delivery they said,ha!ha! don't fall for it
repot them instant and remember if it's to good to be true

I was also contacted about a week ago from this same lottery saying i had won and then they wanted me to send them 945.00 to ship my winnings to me through their private courior service and the way i see it if ive won somthing i shouldnt have to pay to have it delivered and now they emailed me and said it could be transfered to my private banking account and they needed to have my account & routing # DON"T TRUST THEM !!!

I get their emails from time to time but from different email addresses. I mark 'em "spam" and move on.
