My favorite Olympic stars have been Dorothy Hammil, and before her our still reigning figure skating queen Peggy Flemming. Both are Americans. Both figure skaters. Both gold medal winners.

Billy Mills was great in the Tokyo 10,000 meters. Frank Shorter in the 1972 Munich marathon too. Bob Beamon in the Mexico City long jump.

I am not Norweigian, but I was really impressed with Johann Olav Koss. His achievements in speedskating are notable, (One gold and one silver at Albertville and three golds at Lillehammer) but his humanitarian efforts are very comendable.
