You can either go to a justice of the peace or to a minister in private. My husband and I got married in California by a non-denominational minister in his living room on a Friday afternoon with just two witnesses (required by California law).
Another thought is if you do a YAHOO search for Illinois wedding chapel you can probably find someplace that will marry you exactly the way you want to be married, with as much or as little pomp and ceremony as you like. Those places are in the business of making newlyweds happy in their marriages.
Best of luck to you both.

actually. touch the city hall on your city and get the archives from them. some interior reach rules could fluctuate, in spite of if that's achievable :) once you have a ceremony, all your priest/rabbi does is sign the marriage license which you had to get carry of from the city hall in strengthen besides. so, with out the ceremony, you would be in simple terms skipping this step and getting all of it achieved good there. often, city mayor can sign the marriage license, and then the city hall will mail the marriage certificates to you in some weeks. why do you want to get married so early in existence?

City hall does hundreds of civil ceremonies every day. A judge basically looks at your license and says, "You want him? You want her?" If you both answered in the affirmative, the judge will then say, "By the power vested in me by the state of Illinois, I now pronounce you man and wife. Next!"

You can go to court house and get married or you can have a minister or priest marry you at the church or at your home without an audience.

go to the courthouse whenever you wish to be married. ask for a marriage license...(remember to bring proper identification). if there is a waiting period..then wait that day or days...go back and say you wish to be married.. if there is not a waiting period tell them you wish to be married--now.
