The only people I know who want to restrict personal freedoms are liberals.
That is because liberals say ALL people have ALL rights. Sound strange?
Well, the end result is that NOBODY has ANY rights, because if you do anything, you are offending somebody, somewhere (at least, if they knew you were doing it, they would be offended, so you aren't allowed to it anyway.)
So, I can't say "Merry Christmas", and I can mention the Bible, or even the names of God or Jesus without offending someone. Therefore, liberals would have these freedoms, and countless others, taken away.

The thing that confuses me the most is that conservatives want no money spent on social programs, but are perfectly fine with spending unlimited amounts on war. There is nothing "conservative" about that. It is the costliest thing we can do. It completely is draining our tax base.
I feel a true conservative would stay clear of gay issues, abortion, and war. So the word really no longer reflects the actions they take.
