In the end of the movie, the main character (the woman) and her daughter get out of Silent Hill and go back home. Why is it that when they get home her husband is there at the same house they are in, at the same time, but they can't see or hear each other and on the husbands end its nice and sunny in the house, but on the wifes end, its gloomy and kinda grey? I don't understand that at all. Anyone know? thanks.....

Because they were able to finally escape the town itself, but not the hell-dimension. So they were still in the other dimension, only now they can travel around instead of being stuck in the town of Silent Hill. They are essentially ghosts. I didn't like this ending, myself; I felt really bad for the husband!

They died in the car crash at the start of the movie, only now they an wonder out of silent hill but they are still in the other demension. I hated the ending, why did they ruin a good movie with that ending and that poor husband...=[

I think They are in some kind of alternate reality. I hated the ending, I thought the movie was good except for the ending.
