It is interesting that you said PEOPLE... considering women are the ones getting the abortion! I read a comment on another question saying that men do have abortions, their abortions though are just to walk away and never see, talk or support that baby that was born!

We are allowed abortions because it is our own right to our body...


People that justify abortion as being murder are ignorant, selfless and fail to understand the decision a women has to make to either abort, keep or adopt her unborn baby. Murder is a malicious intent to kill and hurt something, would a mother ever want this??? NOOOO...

People that choose to abort are making this decision based on the past, present and future. If you never intented on having a child, then that sperm and egg were never suppose to meet anyways.

Abortion has been performed for thousands of years, based on the fact that the tribe/society would not be able to support another child being born. Population control is a very important part of maintaining a healthy society.

Human beings were never meant to be governed by law, why should there be a law that illegalizes abortion? The science of human life boils down Darwin's Theory :survival of the fittest. Sex, only insures survival of our species. but I think we all know that our species is going to survive abortion or not.

So why do people care soooooo much about what other peoples choices are?? Having an abortion should be the least concern of anyone, please care about your own family and needs and not anyone elses.

1 in 3 women by the age of 45 will have had an abortion. Its way more common than you think and will continue to be. We will only lose mother and unborn fetus if this issue becomes illegal. Why lose a life that is already living?

Because pregnancy is a big physical and mental toll on a woman's body and some women can't handle it. Especially women who are raped, scared and alone, or know that there will be an illness with them or the baby. I don't think that abortion is as easy of an option that people make it seem to be. Like women say, "Oh well, I'll just get an abortion." If you talk with women who have had them, the majority go through a lot of turmoil. It's not an easy decision, but it's their decision.

we live in a free country, where each person is entitled to make medical decisions for themselves. Other people should not dictate the course of a stranger's life.

There are many reasons for having an abortion and not all women who make that choice are using abortion as a form of birth control. Why do people forget that birth control is not 100% effective is beyond me?

Know your facts. If this country can't place thousands of children that are already here into loving homes, how can adding more to the equation be the answer?

Because (1) it's not healthy for a 10 year old to have a baby. (2) sometimes the baby has severe problems and, because the law does not allow for euthanasia of babies with nearly fatal conditions, the parent's only choice is abortion. (3) If having the baby will kill the mother, it is better not to have the baby. After all, there might be more babies in that mother's future or she might have other children to raise. You cannot let the rights of that one baby out weigh the rights of those already born.

In the end, the decision belongs to the woman. She may be advised by her doctor, her family, and her church, but she is the one who will have to answer for it to God. It has to be her decision alone.

Because the Supreme Court ruled, in Roe v. Wade, that it is the right of a woman to decide this for herself, at least in the first trimester, and within certain guidelines in the second trimester. After that, the fetus is too close to viable to avoid calling it murder.

Where you are on this issue is up to you. I don't like abortions, but I cannot deny that a young woman who is determined to have one should have the right. I'm not real comfortable with the taxpayers having to pay for it, though.

Because there is a misunderstanding about whose life we are meddling in. Pro choice women think we are meddling in their life, their bodies, thier business if we stop abortions. Anti-Abortionists understand that we are talking about a child's life, a child's body, and a child's future.
A woman has a choice. That choice is whether or not to have sex, whether or not to use birth control, and whether or not to keep the child or give it up for adoption. That's where her choices end. No one would allow her to kill the baby at 2 weeks old - why at 2 weeks til birth?

For the reply that a mother couldn't "abandon" her child - so the solution is to kill it instead? What kind of drugged up mind does that make sense to?

For the same reasons we are "allowed" to do anything. We have the right to freedom of choice. That is one of the things that has withstood our government.
Nobody can tell me what I can or can't do with my body.

Could you take care of all those unwanted children?......Could you raise a child that was a product of a rape where you didn't know anything about the rapist?...or how about the child that was going to be born mentally handicapped, do you have the capabilities to raise that child?...There are many reasons that women choose to get abortions and sometimes, they have no choice. As when its either have the abortion or loose your own life. Something to think about before you condem people for their choice.

The government says it is a womans choice to terminate a pregnancy even though not getting pregnant is far easier than having and abortion. I think it will continue to be legal I just wish they would put more restrictions on it.

Because sometimes people's lives are so crazy, that you cant even begin to put yourself in their place. Maybe their life would be in danger, and they are a single mom that cant abandon the rest of her children, or they were raped...the list goes on and on. It is no ones place to judge.
