Good question, and worth answering. At first i didn't know. It was a turmoil with me all the time when i did. Here's what i have learned about myself. Maybe this will help with your question.
I love my wife more then anything, always have and always will. About 8 years ago we started taking on responsibilities related to her family. Financal, emotional, and physical. It was always okay with me, I loved my wife and never wanted to give her any grief. This went on for a few years and it only got worse, more family came, none of which could take care of themselves. Before long my wife and I were spending so much time taking care of everyone elses needs, we did not take care of our own. Our romantic relationship...was on the back burner. All of our emotional capital was being spent on others, not on each other. It was destined to make something break.
Then came a family friend that payed lots of attention to me. She made visits every year and e-mailed me often. She made me the center of her attention and wanted me. Being wanted was something that we all long for. Well, I fell for it and stumbled and crashed. It was the worst thing I ever did.
Once having the sexual affair I found I didn't even like doing it. It happened 7 or 8 times over two years. At the same time I didn't quite know how to get out of it. Of course I was found out and crushed my wife and destroyed our lives. I have been in counseling ever since. I found, and am finding out, much about myself. The flaws with in me that made everything possible. My flaws made everything start going wrong years and years ago when I let things take me a direction with no boundies in place for myself to protect me.
Long story short, it will never happen to me again. Will my wife ever take me back? I'm not sure. We are talking and working on it, but I really don't know.
So there's one answer, why do you ask?

If you had asked cheat WITH mine, that would be another story. But we have an open relationship and can separate love from sex. So we don't consider it cheating.

No sex, no love, everything else came first before me, too much mother, no wife. We let life's events force us to drift apart. We both changed too. It's complex, lots of dynamics at work....

I haven't, I'm a woman, so that would be illegal in most states (being married).

She asked for it! I told her that if she didn't stop seeing her dog, I wasn't going to stand by and do nothing! Bestiality forced me to do it.
