im assuming your are talking about the ones fitted to sprinter type vans over 3.5 tonnes rather than hgvs so here goes .
make sure that the ignition is switched on and that the vehicle is not moving and press the eject button till the lights stop flashing and sometimes you have 2 large buttons on either edge of the machine , press them together and the tray will eject itself . that is just the type im used to but other cassette type tachos will be similair

Open the tacho with the ignition on and the tray will pull out and down. Fill out your tacho disc as normal and clip it into the tray as you'd expect but make sure the disc is under the little plastic bit at the top left of the tray. Then re-insert the tray and use the number '1' button to scroll between modes.
If you're having any trouble just ask someone in the yard. It's better to look a bit stupid rather than use it incorrectly...

You must make sure you get them under the clear piece of plastic , normally in the top left hand corner, else it will shred them to bits, apart from that fill them in as normal

You insert them into the clock. How long have you been driving?
