BAD COMPANY - because they were an actual band, with all members contributing to their sound, and it was a distinct and immediately recognizable sound, a progression from the work of the members' previous bands. They were able to sustain a career & maintain the quality of their work over the long run, rather than a slow run-up over 3 albums, one great album, and a long slow slide to the bottom.
also, BAD COMPANY - because regardless of their previous pedigrees, the other players in Wings were nasically employees of Paul McCartney - a Paul McCartney whose prime was growing further and further past - also, Wings loses massive points for Linda

I was, like, really tiny when both of these groups were popular, but I always kinda liked Bad Company. I just never liked Wings and I still can't name one single song that they ever did. Maybe it was the Beatles connection, but I still have a Wings mental block. I say Bad Company!
