Put the item in a plastic bag and then put it in the freezer overnight. you should be able to prize it off with a blunt knife in the morning.

definately the freezer - put the item in a bag, with the gum touching the bag, make sure the gum isnt squished into the material too much, then pop it in the freezer for a while - over night is best, and then the gum will peel off - then wash the clothes as normal

PERFECT!

You can acctually buy - gum removing chemicals now to do the job. They practically melt the gum off while leaving the clothes intact. Where you can buy it I'm not sure however it does exsist.

Below is such an example:

You can try freezing the garment for about 2 hours, it will just peel off after that. There will be a slight trace of gum still left, but it can easily be removed wth WD40.

Sometimes you can stick the item in the freezer. Once the gum is frozen you can just break it off.
There is also a gum remover product I have seen at WalMart in the Rit Dye section. Sorry, I don't know the name of it.
GOOD LUCK!!

One way is to apply ice to the gum. When it hardens it will come off more easily. Also there are two products call GooGone and Goo Remover that you get at Walmart/ Kmart that are excellent. Hope this helps

put item in the freezer,it's always worked for me the gum goes hard and is easier to pick off but, i've also heard that nail varnish remover can break it down as well, but i've never tried that as the freezer option has always done it!
