I see a lot of people support torturing terrorists - but how about the bystanders, grudge reported, and mistaken identity arrests? How many of those people is OK with you?

Apparently, those who live NEXT to the sword, near the sword, or have the same last name as those who live by the sword are also getting arrested and tortured - ok for them to die by the sword, too, then?

None, of course. You should never use punitive measures on the innocent. With that, how do you determine innocence or do you need to? We do live in a society where you are innocent until proven guilty and I do not belive that includes Inquisition-style techniques to "prove" guilt. There is great tragedy in taking a "1% doctrine" mentality in which you presume guilt based on a minimal plausibility of that association. So, to answer your question...no.

Its not OK to torture anyone. It's against the Geneva convention, which all civilised countries participate in. This just demonstrates that US is no longer a civilised country

There is no smoke without fire. If there really are innocent Muslims out there they should denounce the guilty. I am sick and tired of do-gooders talking about the rights of these animals. Did they think about the rights of innocent people when they carried out terrorist attacks in New York, Indonesia, Madrid and London? Did they think of human rights when they beheaded hostages in Iraq? Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.

BUBBLE-BOY BUSH DEFENDS TORTURE
Bush looked like a man possessed at a ranting, spit-spewing news conference last Friday. Bush rose into rapture, trying to sell his mad plan for fascist rule in America, urging us to shed those old-fashioned protections in the Bill of Rights, so we can "protect the nation," and he can use the fight to attempt to save his political hide in the process. Bush can only function with single-party rule. One house in Congress with a Democratic majority and subpoena powers will doom the Busheviks.

None..... and "emeny combatant" is an arbitrary label imposed by the executive branch, without any trial and without Due Process. So, it is meaningless as a status, as the Supreme Court has confirmed.
