Why are Muslims easier to offend than other people?

Because their religion is based on violence and intolerance. Look at how they treat their own women.

I think people that have been under tirannicle control by a non-secular government for centuries tend to have a mixture of religious righteousness and nationalism. Kinda what we are trying to avoid here in the states. When the government has only watched out for its own interests and left the poeple with no basic infrastructure, all they have is thier faith. And when that is threatened they take it seriously. We would be doing the same thing here, but because we have a government (accept current admin) that has a hands off approach to peoples private affairs and offeres a decent infrastructure, people don't have the need to act out.

Some of my dearest friends are Muslim and they don't become anymore offended than the Christian or Buddhist next to them. I think you have to look at what circumstances they are living in.

Stereotyping is a big no no. Those you see on the media are the ones that protest. Have you made a survey on how many muslims that doesn't protest? They're not on the news. But they do exists.

Because they are a peaceful people that are being unjustly persecuted for their religious beliefs.The western culture has not taken the time to understand the finer nuances of beheading infidels and subjugating the female gender for the overall benefit of mankind and Mohammad.Allah will be with you, whether you like it or not.

They aren't, given the heightened level of attention through the media these days it may appears so. Its funny how perception always over shadows reality. many Christians can be offended and broadcast they're measure of offence openly every wee and daily on radio and television.

In the media, they certainly portray the militants as angry and hostile. I was watching that crazy dude, Glenn Beck last night, and he said that their actions proved the Pope was right. They need to lighten up, you don't see us freaking out over all the militant leaders saying that they are going to kill all americans. But you are correct, overly-sensitive comes to mind. They better not mess with the Pope though, that will start WWIII!

Because obviously "tolerance" is not a part of their creed as one other answer already said. It is crazy that they don't protest when Sunnis massacre Shiites and vice versa but they rant and rave when someone reads an obscure text that tells the truth about their religion!

They are told they are NOT capable of thinking for themselves, so they allow clerics to manipulate them. If a cleric is offended, he gets all his little puppets moving. What offends a cleric? Anything that tells the world that clerics of mys anthropic, misogynistic sodomites (ie, their true nature).

They are far more religious, and take more pride in their religion. It is kind of hypocritical since they discriminate against other religions (Some muslim states charge non-muslims a "protection" tax) and call jews and christians all sorts of things.
