WISPA is a fantastic charity and is among the 4 to which I regularly give. The others are all animals. Since most give to human charities I decided to concentrate on animals. In fact when Katrina hit the only donations I gave where to animal rescue. (I'm from Canada)

Im the opposite. I only give to animal charities because I like animals better than people. I know a few people who do the same.

Mainly because the media make a big issue out of human suffering and less out of animal suffering. As man causes animals to suffer we should support animal charities. We need a Bob Geldof to highlight the plight of animals and then maybe things would change. Man is just too selfish !

My uncle used to give to a number of animal charities. He gave away a lot of money to save the bear, the owl, the duckbilled platapuss for cryin out loud. One day I was visiting his grumpy old *** when he received an invitation to donate to help diseased children. His reaction was an odd one and he exclaimmed" what the hell now they want money for the damn kids."I lost all respect for him that day.Human life above all is most precious.Without humans animals would just continue living and surviving on instinct and violently ripping each other apart. There wouldnt be an SPCA or a Peta so people rank a little higher. We help animals cause they can be cute and fuzzy but lets not loose our heads and put their needs above humans, especially children.

Actually, I think you'll find that animal charities received more donations last year than charities that help humans.

I make sizeable donations to Best Friends Animal Society in Utah and to the San Francisco SPCA at the end of every year.

I don't contribute to any other charitable organisations.

My boyfriend is the opposite he DOES give to animal charities. Anything to do with cats and dogs, he is always selling raffle tickets for them! I choose to give to childrens charities such as the NSPCC and I often donate to cancer research.
