People always like to belittle the people that they want to hate.
I think you would find that this term came from one of the trashy tabloid newspapers, and would have quickly been picked up n by people who only read headlines, to show how "with it" they are.
Yes, I hate it. It is abusive and unnecessary.

Boyfriend sounds juvenile, extraordinarily considering the fact that my loved and that i are going 11 years solid now. i don't prefer human beings to think of that i grow to be out on city and purely met a guy, who i'm now calling my "boyfriend". It lends itself (the words boyfriend or female buddy) to the connotation of having a solid time, not construction a life at the same time. that's what husband/spouse/companion would recommend - and for sure, all of us understand that marriage as of now could be barely criminal for on the instant human beings in all 50 states. i understand companion sounds like somebody you're in a employer relationship with...yet I nonetheless can not hit upon a greater robust term that encompasses all that i prefer to declare. yet.

I have never heard that term, I always heard "towel head" instead. Anyway, yes I agree that referring to a large group of people with a derogitory term like that is not right.
