I think they run exclusively on instinct. And yes, through genetics, they receive their parents' instincts.

No. The only contact a cockroach has with her offspring is laying her eggs.

Life experiences of an *individual* cannot be passed through genetics.

However, certain behaviors can propagate though a *population* via genetics. E.g., you may notice that when you turn on the light, a cockroach will scurry away from the light towards the nearest dark thing it sees. (I remember being scared by this as a kid growing up in S. America ... if you entered a room and turned on a light to surprise a cockroach in the middle of the room (they have those big 2-inch long guys), they would sometimes scurry directly towards you ... it was only after a while that I realized that I was just the first "dark" object in their field of vision.) This instinct to avoid light is 'learned' genetically through natural selection ... those cockroaches who scurry away from light tend to live longer and therefore produce more offspring ... and in that way, the "scurry" instinct grows over time.

No. A cockroach (as most insects) passes on genetic material (read: instinct) to its offspring, nothing more. They have no means of communication and no will to do anything else. They do not spend any time with their offspring as adults and they do not distinguish them from any other cockroach.
