any interesting psychology studies or point of views on paedophile?

(such as why are some people are paedophiles and why men have a higher propensity of being caught in paedophiliac acts?)

The core driver within the MIND of a pedophile is a need for intimacy as an infant. The individual seeks to provide to a child that which he/she did not receive as an infant. The Clinical_Denial within the pedophiles MIND prevents him/her from perceiving the harm he/she is doing to a child.

That is, the psychological need of the individual is sufficient to override the reasonable understanding someone who is not compulsively driven would have regarding the harm being caused to the victim.

The only way to deal with this problem is to facilitate the deeply repressed trauma that serves as the causal for the compulsive behavior. How many therapists are capable of effecting such therapy? Perhaps as many as one in a thousand professionals currently in practice.

Since no college or university today teaches anything about the Esoteric dimensions of Man, such as the MIND of Man, the only people who would intuitively be able to treat the pedophile is someone who is naturally open to his/her psychic realms. But the likelihood of such a person being able to get a job where they might be useful is almost impossible... such is the level of fear of the Esoteric realms within Man within the mental health field today.

Dunno if it's interesting as much as scary but:

"In 1989 Briere and Runtz conducted a study on 193 male undergraduate students concerning pedophilia. Of the sample, 21% acknowledged sexual attraction to some small children; 9% reported sexual fantasies involving children; 5% admitted masturbating to these fantasies; and 7% conceded some probability of actually having sex with a child if they could avoid detection and punishment. These sexual interests were associated with negative early sexual experiences, masturbation to pornography, self-reported likelihood of raping a woman, frequent sex partners, and attitudes supportive of sexual dominance over women. The authors also noted that "given the probable social undesirability of such admissions, [one could] hypothesize that the actual rates ... were even higher."

(Guess a lot of guys are just messed up but sooo fortunately it would seem most don't act on their fantasies)

When you have mainstream shows such as the OC pushing young 14-15 year old girls on viewers in highly sexual situations and dressed to look like porn stars, it desensatizes individuals to the taboos.

Cuz for one, men are sloppier than women, and when it comes to sexual things, men are weak, not all men, but just sayin...when it comes to a mans thing, it gets him in MORE trouble..

Plus, studies show, they are catching more men than women.

I believe its a mental illness, even when the person knows its wrong.
