I used to work for a vet. The can will say something like humans and pets can return in 4 - 6 hrs. Normal time for pets is recommended at least 6 hrs. We can return in about 4. Make sure to clean the area you keep them them well before you bring them in. Pesticides can be harmful to their respiratory and immune system.

I wouldn't bring a dwarf hamster home for at least 6 hours, make sure you're house is good and aired out!!

Read the can & there should be instruction on when it is safe for pets to return. I would say a few hours & they would be safe.
