me and my friends are trying to start a band..we want to know how you get started getting gigs at bars, clubs and things like that. ??

Look for Open Mic Nights in your area. Then once you gets words around that you guys play well, you can start knocking at doors about perfroming at a certain club/bar.

Battle of the bands contest are great exposure everybody comes to support their favorite band and make new favorites when they hear others
Down here in Ft. Laudy we have an Irish Pub that host one once a week at the Hard Rock Casino

We got our friends to do a video of us performing and also in our portfolio we had several demo audio tapes done...It is a hard slog to begin with, but cold calling on the venues you want to play at is the only way to do this..ask to speak to the entertainment manager....or whatever you call them over there....good luck..(don't be surprised if you have to do gigs for free to prove yourselves)......

in these simple steps:
1.your bend leader must go to that's bar's manager
2.you must pay that manager a small fee like 50$ for 2 played songs
and if he says no ...**** him...there are a lot of bars
